Born and raised in Alexandria, Egypt, Ikon A. Chiba is a multi-disciplinary, experimental visual artist + filmmaker who has worked both individually and collaboratively to create a dialogue on aesthetics, the body and its psychological processes.
His work has premiered solo at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and has screened at The Museo Nacional de Arte (MUNAL).
A perpetual experimentalist, Ikon works to deconstruct creative concepts, ideas, and visions. It is a foray into the eerie and grotesque, a continual and experimental process. A constant documentarian, he forces us to reconceive the mundane, the offensive, and the outcast. Everything has been dissected and stripped down to its bare elements, and we are left to analyze what remains.
